Literature Review: the Effect of Range of Motion (ROM) Passive Exercise on Increasing Muscle Strength of Non-Haemorrhagic Stroke Patients Rahmadani Edyawati1, Lia Dwi Prafitri2, Sugiharto3 Undergraduate Program in Physiotherapy, Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Muhammadiyah Pekajangan Pekalongan Agustus, 2020 ABSTRACT The Introduction: Stroke is a condition that arises due to a circulatory disorder in the brain which causes the death of brain tissue, resulting in a person experiencing paralysis or death. A stroke can occur when a blood vessel that carries blood to the brain is ruptured or blocked due to a disruption in the circulation of blood vessels that supply blood to the brain. Stroke can have an impact on various body functions, including motor deficits in the form of hemiparese (weakness of one side of the body). The Purpose: The study aimed to conduct a literature review on the effect of passive range of motion training on muscle strength in non-hemorrhagic stroke patients. The Method: Using PIO method analysis. The measuring tool uses the Manual Muscle Test (MMT) to measure muscle strength. The Results: The test results showed that the increasing muscle strength in non-hemorraghic stroke patients before being given passive intervention ROM was 1,6 and after being given passive intervention ROM was 2,5. This also showed that there was a significant effect of ROM passive intervention on the increase in muscle strength in non-hemorrhagic stroke patients. The Conclusion: There was a passive effect of ROM on increasing muscle strength in non-hemorrhagic stroke patients. The Suggestion: For the physiotherapy profession, using passive ROM can be applied, especially in cases of neurology to increase muscle strength in non-hemorrhagic stroke patients.
