Application of Early Mobilization Techniques to Reduce Pain Intensity in Post-Caesarean Section Mothers at RSI PKU Muhammadiyah Pekajangan Pekalongan: A Case Study
Introduction
A Cesarean section can cause pain and disrupt tissue continuity due to the nature of the surgical procedure. Effective pain management is a critical component of postoperative care for mothers who have undergone a Cesarean section, as it plays a vital role in ensuring optimal recovery. This management may include pharmacological interventions, such as analgesics. Additionally, early mobilization is a non-pharmacological approach that can help alleviate pain. This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of early mobilization techniques in reducing pain intensity among mothers who had undergone a Cesarean section at RSI PKU Muhammadiyah Pekajangan in Pekalongan.
Method
This study employs a case study design, applying Evidence-Based Nursing Practice regarding early mobilization to reduce pain intensity following a Caesarean section. The study involves a single participant—a mother who has undergone a Caesarean section—at the Alamanda Ward of RSI PKU Muhammadiyah Pekajangan, Pekalongan.
Results
Following three days of care for a post-Cesarean section mother, a reduction in pain intensity was observed; specifically, the pain decreased from severe to mild.
Discussion and Conclusion
This study aims to provide guidance for hospitals in implementing strategies to promote early mobilization for patients after a Caesarean section, thus helping to alleviate post-operative pain levels.
