Pendahuluan: Spondylosis merupakan kelainan degeneratif pada tulang belakang ditandai dengan perubahan pada diskus intervertebralis, sendi faset, dan pembentukan osteofit sehingga menimbulkan nyeri serta keterbatasan aktivitas fungsional. Penatalaksanaan fisioterapi yang dapat diberikan untuk mengurangi nyeri adalah kombinasi William’s Flexion Exercise dan Taping. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui tingkat nyeri sebelum dan sesudah intervensi serta menganalisis perbedaan tingkat nyeri setelah pemberian kombinasi intervensi pada pasien spondylosis.
Metode penelitian: Penelitian menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan desain Single Subject Research (SSR) pola A–B. Subjek penelitian adalah satu pasien dengan diagnosis spondylosis dipilih menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Pengukuran tingkat nyeri dilakukan menggunakan Verbal Descriptive Scale (VDS) yang meliputi nyeri diam, nyeri gerak, dan nyeri tekan. Pengukuran dilakukan pada fase baseline (T0) dan selama enam sesi intervensi (T1–T6). Data dianalisis menggunakan analisis visual.
Hasil: Skor nyeri sebelum intervensi, skor nyeri diam sebesar 3/6, nyeri gerak 5/6, dan nyeri tekan 5/6. Setelah enam sesi pemberian kombinasi William’s Flexion Exercise dan Taping, terjadi penurunan skor nyeri menjadi 0/6 pada nyeri diam, 3/6 pada nyeri gerak, dan 3/6 pada nyeri tekan. Analisis visual menunjukkan adanya pola penurunan nyeri yang berlangsung secara bertahap dan konsisten selama periode intervensi.
Diskusi: Penurunan nyeri terjadi melalui kombinasi mekanisme biomekanik dan neurofisiologis. William’s Flexion Exercise membantu mengurangi tekanan pada struktur posterior lumbal, meningkatkan fleksibilitas jaringan, serta memperbaiki keseimbangan otot sehingga menurunkan rangsangan nosiseptif. Taping memberikan stimulasi mekanoreseptor, meningkatkan propriosepsi, serta membantu modulasi nyeri melalui mekanisme gate control. Kombinasi kedua intervensi tersebut memberikan respons positif terhadap penurunan nyeri pada pasien spondylosis selama periode penelitian.
