Background: Nurses' competence, especially in providing spiritual care is very important particularly for patients who are experiencing critical conditions. Despite the fact that the priority of critical care is to maintain the function of the organ systems and to improve the patient's health condition, the patient's spiritual care should not be ignored. Objective: The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between nurses’ competencies in spiritual care and the fulfilment of spiritual care practice among patients in the ICU at Pekalongan Government Hospital. Method: Simple regression was used this descriptive correlation with the cross sectional approach study. Results: The average nurse competency score in sppiritual care is 12,10 (±6,451), and practice to fulfill the patient’s spititual needs 64,49 (±9,159). Nurse competency is related to the practice of fulfilling the patient’s spiritual needs (R=0,564), With the direction positive influence of (B =0,801) and p-value <0.01. Conclusion : The results of this study are expected to be a reference for the hospital to always be able to improve nurse competency through promotion, education and training for nurses in the ICU to create a comprehensive nursing care
