GAMBARAN PENGETAHUAN DAN SIKAP ORANGTUA TERHADAP ANEMIA PADA REMAJA

Anemia is a health problem that is often found in adolescent. Parents play an important role in the growth and development of adolescent. Parents need to have practical knowledge about nutrient level needed for growth as well as good attitude towards anemia in adolescent. This study used a descriptive design. The research objective was to find out the description on parents’ knowledge and attitude towards anemia in adolescents in the village of Pasir Sari in the district of Western Pekalongan the City of Pekalongan. The population of the study was all mothers of adolescents aged 13 to 19 years living in the village of Pasir Sari in the district of Western Pekalongan the City of Pekalongan as many as 1.405 persons. Samples were mothers of adolescent aged 13 to 19 in the village of Pasir Sari as many as 196 persons taken through a technique of cluster sampling. The insrument for data gathering was questionnaire. The result of the research showed that as many as 109 person (55.6%) respondents have less knowledge of anemia in adolescent and 87 persons (44.4%) have good knowledge. The respondent’s attitude towards anemia in adolescent was 108 persons (55.1%) have less attitude and 88 persons (44.9%) have good attitude. It is recommended that health care provider give more information about nutrient and anemia in adolescent by including parents.
