Pendahuluan: Spondylosis merupakan penyakit degeneratif pada tulang belakang yang menyebabkan penurunan kekuatan otot trunk sehingga mengganggu stabilitas dan kemampuan fungsional. Salah satu intervensi fisioterapi yang dapat diberikan adalah kombinasi William's Flexion Exercise (WFE) dan taping. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui perubahan kekuatan otot setelah pemberian kombinasi WFE dan taping pada pasien spondylosis.
Metode: Penelitian menggunakan desain Single Subject Research (SSR) dengan pendekatan pre-test dan post-test pada satu responden perempuan berusia 65 tahun dengan diagnosis spondylosis. Intervensi berupa kombinasi William's Flexion Exercise dan taping diberikan dua kali seminggu selama tiga minggu (6 sesi). Kekuatan otot diukur menggunakan Manual Muscle Testing (MMT) sebelum dan sesudah intervensi.
Hasil: Pada pemeriksaan awal (T0), nilai MMT fleksi dan ekstensi trunk sebesar 2, sedangkan rotasi dan lateral fleksi trunk sebesar 3. Setelah enam sesi intervensi (T6), nilai fleksi dan ekstensi trunk meningkat menjadi 3, sedangkan rotasi serta lateral fleksi trunk meningkat menjadi 4. Peningkatan mulai terlihat pada evaluasi T3 dan dipertahankan hingga akhir penelitian.
Diskusi: Peningkatan kekuatan otot terjadi karena William's Flexion Exercise mampu meningkatkan aktivasi serta kekuatan otot abdominal, gluteal, dan stabilisator trunk, sedangkan taping memberikan dukungan mekanis, meningkatkan stimulasi proprioseptif, dan membantu mempertahankan stabilitas lumbal selama aktivitas. Kombinasi kedua intervensi tersebut berpotensi menjadi alternatif fisioterapi untuk meningkatkan kekuatan otot trunk pada pasien spondylosis.
