Pengaruh Exercise Movements terhadap Nyeri dan Kemampuan Fungsional pada Penderita Patellofemoral Pain Syndrome
Pendahuluan: Patellofemoral Pain Syndrome (PFPS) merupakan penyebab nyeri lutut anterior yang umum pada wanita usia ≥50 tahun akibat perubahan hormonal dan penurunan massa otot. Kondisi ini disebabkan oleh ketidakseimbangan aktivasi VMO dan VL serta kelemahan otot abduktor dan rotator eksternal pinggul, yang meningkatkan tekanan pada sendi patellofemoral. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui pengaruh intervensi Exercise Movements (abduksi pinggul, rotasi eksternal, OKC, CKC) terhadap nyeri dan kemampuan fungsional pada penderita PFPS.
Metode: Penelitian quasi-experimental dengan one group pretest-posttest melibatkan 18 wanita usia ≥50 tahun di Desa Pakisputih dan Kwayangan, Kabupaten Pekalongan. Intervensi diberikan 3 kali/minggu selama 4 minggu. Nyeri diukur dengan NPRS dan kemampuan fungsional dengan AKPS sebelum dan sesudah intervensi. Analisis data menggunakan uji Wilcoxon Signed Ranks Test.
Hasil: Nyeri menurun signifikan pada lutut dextra maupun sinistra (p = 0,004 ≤ 0,05). Pasca intervensi, nyeri ringan mendominasi lutut dextra (50%) dan tidak ada nyeri mendominasi lutut sinistra (61%). Kemampuan fungsional meningkat signifikan (p = 0,000 ≤ 0,05), dengan kategori baik meningkat menjadi 67%, cukup menurun menjadi 22%, dan buruk menjadi 11%.
Simpulan: Intervensi Exercise Movements efektif menurunkan nyeri dan meningkatkan kemampuan fungsional pada penderita PFPS melalui perbaikan stabilitas pinggul dan keseimbangan aktivasi VMO/VL. Program ini direkomendasikan sebagai intervensi fisioterapi di pelayanan kesehatan dasar dan dilanjutkan secara mandiri oleh pasien.
